Agriculture

Computer vision, robotics, and machine learning are transforming agriculture. Autonomous robots equipped with lightweight sensors can predict crop yield and quality, detect pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies, while operating efficiently in challenging conditions. These systems, driven by deep learning and AI, enable hands-free farming, harvesting, and monitoring, reducing labour-intensive tasks and ushering in a future of smart, data-driven agriculture for improved food production.

  • Precision agriculture Ard Nieuwenhuizen Vision Robotics
Every farmer will soon be thinking in terms of precision agriculture

Every two months, we introduce a specialist. We offer a glimpse of the person behind the research and the work they do. This time: WUR researcher at Vision+Robotics Ard Nieuwenhuizen.
